CESNUR Religious
Scholars Visit the Center
On July 16, over 30 religious scholars visited the
Academy’s New World Teaching Center in El Cajon at the
conclusion of their international conference at San Diego
State University. The tour of Unarius’ international
headquarters was one of the activities offered during the
four-day conference, which was organized by CESNUR (Center
for Studies on New Religions) in Torino, Italy and the
Department of Religious Studies and the Society for the
Academic Study of Religion at SDSU. Many of these scholars
were familiar with Unarius so they were excited to
actually be able to visit the Center and to speak directly
to Unariun students about their beliefs and experiences.
Several students gave an overview of the more recent
developments and activities of Unarius—new information for
the scholars—and then answered their many questions, such
as did we have a personal contact with Uriel and when will
the Space Brothers land. There was just enough time left
for a quick tour of the Center’s futuristic artifacts,
like the Model City of the Future. However, many of the
visitors buzzed around the Center on their own, asking
more questions and checking out materials available for
purchase, particularly DVDs to show in their religious
studies classes.
Religious scholars may classify Unarius as a new religion
versus a spiritual science, but no matter how they
describe Unarius, the scholars who visited the Center were
very open, respectful, and positive about what they
learned from their tour.
